1979 Amityville Horror Trailer As noted on Horror Stew's "Houses Of Horror" page, the movie "The Amityville Horror" Click here for the 1979 Amityville Horror Trailer started with real murders committed in 1974 by Ronald DeFeo Jr. Apparently, he had a real nice father and mother, siblings, and a well off life yet decided they had to die, so he shot them (with a shotgun, talk about subtle). Isn't life wonderful?A couple of years later, in 1976, George and Kathy Lutz bought the house, stayed some twenty eight days, and got ran out by "demons" or whatever. Then, Jay Anson wrote the book, The Amityville Horror and all heck broke loose. This book is very well known all over the world. The poor people who now own the house probably go to great pains to distance themselves from all of the attention! After a string of more Amityville theatrical movie releases and straight to video movies, Hollywood fat cats re-made the original movie in 2005. See our in-depth review plus pictures on this movie!
