28 Days Later is a pretty good film with only one noticeable rip off from the Dawn Of The Dead and that’s when a group of survivors go shopping at a food mart. It brings back memories of the survivors in the mall shopping for guns and ammo, among other things, to repel zombies with. In this flick, there are no zombies or guns in the UK, just infected people with a virus that gives them uncontrollable rage. The weapons of choice to fight with are ball bats and machetes! The story follows Jim who has waken up in the hospital from a deep coma only to find his city completely deserted! He wanders around, having various encounters and narrow escapes with the infected before being found by survivors. They band together, searching for the people that have sent out a message to any survivors to join up with them. The bad part is that Jim and His friends thought they were fighting to survive against the infected when all along the people that are truly poisoned in their minds are the soldiers that have sent the message to them. What turns out to be a survival film from the virus turns out to be a survival film from non-infected people with a sickness in their soul! This movie satisfies on just about every level and will keep you gripped from beginning to end!
