Black Dahlia Trailer
Ulli Lommel's Black Dahlia only has a brief dance with the 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short, and that's at the beginning of the movie. This movie had her legs cut off the torso but that's not how Short was cut up. She was chopped in half at the waist. Any image surf on the internet can show you that! Anyway, this movie deals with four murderers, three of which work hard luring unsuspecting girls into auditions for an Elizabeth Short role. When they don't measure up, (literally get measured, don't know why?!?) they get sawed up with what looks like a Dewalt saws all by this butcher looking dude with a long white apron, a full faced leather mask, and small piggy looking eyes. The other dude that assists specializes in meat hooks and drills. The other part of that trio is a girl with pigtails that is meaner then piss, and has a laugh like a hyena. She's also horse-faced. I wanted to see her on that chopping table real bad. The fourth killer is a 90 year old man that the movie suggests had a relationship with Short back in the forties. I also think the movie wants you to think he actually killed her; hence the obsessive cattle call for actresses and more murders. When the killers aren't chopping, they are tormenting the LA cops with body parts placed in spots around the city, hopping and skipping around to forties music while dropping the bloody packages! In all honesty, this is a 12-pack special movie as in: get your favorite suds to kill the pain of viewing Black Dahlia.
