Blade II Trailer
Blade II is directed by Guillermo del Toro, the guy that brought you HellBoy, the upcoming Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (2008), Mimic, Cronos, and the great little movie that I've reviewed on this site, The Devil's Backbone! See that last movie if you can; I highly recommend it! Anyway, Guillermo del Toro is one hell of a director, and one of my favorites. He knows what it means to entertain. Well, I don't want you to think that this is the Guillermo del Toro fan club. Lets get on to this review! The daywalker is back! In this movie, he starts by looking long and hard for his mentor, Whistler. What, you say? Whistler, alive? Oh yes, friend. It seems that the vampires got him before he could kill himself properly. Anyway, you can't keep the crusty Whistler down for long. I mean, Blade is bad to the bone, but he loves Whistler. He NEEDS Whistler. Well, after Blade finds Whistler, Whistler wakes up to find the punk Scud taking his place as right hand man and overall "get-er-done" guy. He doesn’t like that. He also doesn't like the fact that not long after he awakens and is cured by Blade, Blade forms an alliance with the vamps to take on a new breed called the Reapers, bloodsuckers that not only eat humans, they enjoy vampires too! Not is all as it seems, however, with Blade keeping his enemies close to him so as to figure out what they are up to. He's suspicious and he still hates vampires. Lots of action in this movie! A great sequel to the first movie. Blade II doesn't disappoint! -Trex Melissa's Review: The second film in the Blade trilogy, this film is even more action-packed than the first. When Reapers, a new breed of vampires, begin hunting both humans and vampires, Blade makes a truce with the vampire council to defeat the Reapers. With the help of The Bloodpack, a team of vampires trained to defeat the Reapers, Blade takes on the new breed. But can Blade and The Bloodpack defeat them before they wipe out both the humans and the vampires? -*Melissa Helwig *Melissa Helwig is an intern at Horror Stew and will be a graduate of print journalism at Sheridan College as of May 2007.
