Brides, believe it or not, doesn't have Christopher Lee in it as Dracula! That's precisely why this movie is as good as it is. Cushing meets a different bloodsucker this time which is a nice switch. Peter Cushing plays Van Helsing to the hilt and smooth as silk (as always)! A woman on her way to a girls school is stranded at an inn when the coachman takes off without her. She's then invited to a Baroness's mansion where she sees a man in chains. He persuades her to find the key to unlock him, which she does. Foolishly, she doesn't realize that she just set loose a vampire! The small village starts to experience strange deaths, but, not to fear, Van Helsing and his bag of stakes soon arrive to stamp out the vermin.
