Cemetery Man Dellamorte Dellamore Trailer
"The living dead and the dying living are all the same, cut from the same cloth." So says Francesco Dellamorte, caretaker of a small Italian cemetery where the dead rise to life after seven days courtesy of Mandragola roots that creep into the coffins of the dead. In Cemetery Man Dellamorte Dellamore, the essence of the film is zombie art of the highest level. That's the best way I can describe the movie. The film follows the exploits of Francesco Dellamorte and his sidekick/graveyard worker Gnaghi (played wonderfully by François Hadji-Lazaro) as they kill the risen dead and re-bury them and go on trying to live their own sorry, sad, lonely lives in a small house in the cemetery. Surrounded by the dead, what more can one do? That seems to be the question of both of them, until love shows itself in the form of a beautiful young widow (Anna Falchi), whom Francesco falls for hard. As he deals with her love, then death, then life again, Gnaghi finds love in the Mayor's dead daughter, if only just a head to kiss! Their lives seemed changed but the reality of the situation drives Francesco mad, until he desires nothing but to escape the cemetery and town! A great movie and different from any zombie flick I've ever seen.
