Horror Clix Horror Board Game

The first thing I noticed when I purchased the Horror Clix horror board game was, of course, the gruesome game pieces! The starter set has six figures to start with: The Skeleton, Bane Wolf, Blood Vamp, Chainsaw, Lynch Ghost, and Out Patient! The starter set is around $14.99. Look around because you can get it cheaper, which I did, at $12.99! This game also serves as a pretty cool collectable vehicle in that there are at least 96 characters that you can get besides what you originally received in the starter set. These extra game pieces come in the form of Booster Packs which include four characters, monster cards, and plot twist cards, all for around $7.00! You can also buy the figures as singles. These characters range from rookie status to veteran, so they have different abilities. The booster pack I purchased came with the: Vampire Enforcer, Dire Wolf, Brine Witch, and the Field Agent. The two sided map, in which you can play an indoor arena (Haunted House) or an outdoor arena (Crumbling Mausoleum), is probably my only disappointment. The game board is only glossy paper! In my humble opinion, the Horror Clix Horror Game Makers should've made a heavy game board that folds nicely!!

The Horror Clix Horror Board game has everything in it for two people to play: 6 monsters, 12 plot twist cards, 12 victim tokens and terrain markers, a "tree of the damned", 2 tombstones, the game board, 2 dice and an in-depth 51 page rule book. Like I said, I did buy an extra booster pack with 4 different characters, but beware....how deep do you want to go into buying the figures? There are allot! I recently seen a special edition Alien set of characters you can use in your game for $30.00! The incredible thing is that I find myself really, really wanting to get all of the figures because they have different abilities and look so darned cool! Sigh....I guess I'll have to buy as I go; slowly.

The horror clix horror board game is best described as the monsters you control will be slaughtering victims or enemy monsters and eating them so you can rampage. You've got to stay alive to win! All is not how it seems, however, in this twisted horror realm. The game has many plot twists with the included plot cards. Just when you think you have your opponent's enemy monsters wasted, these cards can change the whole scenario! Even your monsters can transform with altered powers depending on the card. You don't have to be a geek to enjoy this game but loving horror will help!! P.S. (There's a nice checklist in the back on the manual so you can keep track of the characters you have and the ones you'd like to have). Know what the next figure I'm getting? It's the Faith Priest, a veteran rating, who carries an open bible in one hand and what looks like a sawed off double barrel shotgun in the other! He's a Guardian who protects the victims! How cool is that?!
