Wow! That’s what I thought as I watched Creature From The Black Lagoon. Julie Adams, the chick that starred in the movie as the Creature’s horny love fixation, would be 83 years old in 2008. Adams was a pretty, skinny brunette back in those days with a really sexy, wholesome look. No wonder the Gill-Man's Gorton fish stick got hard over her!

I mean, she was really pretty; nothing can take that away from her! Anyway, lest anybody might think this is a porno instead of a horror review (tell me the difference), I’ll move on! An expedition in the Amazon leads to a group of scientists to not only blow off about how great the just-a-theory evolution is, they also feel the wrath of a horny, pent up gill man that hasn’t seen a piece of trim since Van de Kamp’s met tarter sauce. They really find out just how mad a fish dude can really get when they disturb his natural element. Of course, the greedy expedition financier that proclaims to be interested in science for the sake of science itself gets his cake iced thanks to the monster who gives a crap about nothing related to the kindness and glory of modern man’s “science”. That takes care of the evil of exploitation according to the view of Universal Studios, but at least everybody else escapes! Still, one wonders; is this what 1950’s America considered entertainment?!? I guess we haven’t gone too far; slap a swimsuit on some babe and call it entertainment! Who’s complaining when it comes to Julie Adams? Not I said the little red hen! Joy as the Gill-Man palms some suckers head and throw him around like nobody’s business. Joy as the Gill-Man disturbs the camp and the boat of the expedition for entertainment! You get the feeling that the Gill-Man is having a blast just messing around with something new and different in his life. You know what; I still loved every minute of this 1950’s classic!
