This Dracula made a huge star out of Bela Lugosi back in 1931. Although this vampire movie doesn't show throats being ripped out, blood, or superhuman strength of today's movie vampires, it does have the subtle sinister Lugosi playing the Count with an intensity that keeps the audience riveted. You won't see his fangs or any holes being shown on the victim's neck. When the showdown between Van Helsing and the Count begins, the scene crackles with energy! The story has Renfield going to Europe to arrange a transaction securing the Count's new home in England. The Count makes Renfield into one of his minions to protect him on the long voyage there. Once in England, the Count kills Lucy and starts to work on Mina until Van Helsing and Mina's man, John Harker get wise to the Count's ways and set out to stop and destroy him! A classic that belongs in every horror fan's movie library!
