Twenty years after Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) was almost killed by her brother, Michael Myers, he returns to finish her. Forget everything about Halloween 3 through 6, because the makers of this film did. Apparently Laurie never died, she faked her death and went into hiding. Now she’s a headmistress at a private school, which her son, John (Josh Hartnett), attends. When Michael tracks Laurie down at the campus, it’s time for the final showdown. Will Michael finally succeed in killing his sister? Or will Laurie kill Michael and be able to put everything behind her? And if she does kill him, will he stay dead? This film is on par with the first two Halloween movies. It is suspenseful, has some gruesome killings, and some scares. That along with a great cast including Michelle Williams, LL Cool J and a cameo by Curtis’s mom, scream queen Janet Leigh, makes this a fun and scary flick. -Melissa Helwig
