Heebie Jeebies shouldn’t be cut down too harshly for the low value qualities like the grainy digital filming, bad acting by some key players, a crummy plot that shot all over the place like a rubber bouncy ball and non-redeeming gore that just didn’t work. After all, if the money was there for production, editing, or promotion, I could actually see this film doing as well as Friday The 13th. Alas, it wasn’t. Dear Lord, they tried hard, though. The story is about a chick that has bad dreams about some friends of hers that are going to die horrible, cruel deaths. She gathers them up together in an old deserted farmhouse with boarded up windows to try and stave off what’s coming. She thinks she can save them but finds out differently as they are picked off one by one! There are some bright spots in this film and one of them is the hilarious actor who played the dual role of Casper/Dev. As the doping, ultra cool clumsy idiot Dev, actor Jeff Lee performs comic brilliance while battling ancient monsters, all the while delivering some funny, foul monologue. He’s got a voice that is unique and memorable! Given enough rope, support, and offers for work, this guy could really go places. Hollywood, take note, and no, Horror Stew doesn’t charge any fees for pointing out talent…yet!
