Horror Prosthetics: The Scream Team

You know that feeling you get when you run across horror prosthetics that's user friendly, different, cool as heck and actually makes you go: "Wow! Hey, that's sublime....."; it's rare isn't it? Another good feeling is the fact that there are no tricks behind what's being sold. It's an in-your-face product that the company's people believe in! That's when the lightning bolt crashes out of the sky and you hold up your index finger to the sky and yell "Eureka!" That company I'm describing is called The Scream Team and what they create in their studios is the most interesting lightweight, realistic halloween masks you've ever seen!

Radical!

What Scott Ramp and his horror prosthetics company (located in Pasadena, California) has done is made it easy for everyday folk like you and I apply and wear what the horror film industry creates for their characters in horror films. Forget the "over the head" latex masks, forget the polystyrene mask with the little elastic strap holding it to the back of your head; these masks are glued to your mug using Spirit Gum (what the pros use)! The masks themselves are made in molds from foam latex. This stuff, once applied, moves easily with your face. You can eat, drink, scream, frown, split somebody's skull, or whatever in these masks.

The horror prosthetics come as kits with the makeup, spirit gum, fake blood and other stuff to help you make it look realistic! Don't worry about it not fitting your face because each mask is set up for a generic face, meaning that unless you have a face that rivals the Elephant Man's face, you should be fine! As far as we can tell, they have 25 different masks with a wide range that includes killer clowns (believe me, that mask is freaky), pointy eared demons, dudes with their faces torn off, zombie Egyptians, gorilla looking creatures, wizards; the list goes on!

The Scream Team also sells wigs, gross teeth, and pointy eared tips to make your mask character complete.
Cauliflower, anyone?

You may be wondering, "Hey, I don't know how to put this stuff on!" Don't worry! Each horror prosthetics kit comes with an instruction book, but if you are really nervous, you can get a video that they sell to help you out ($15.00)! The average price for the mask kit is $50.00, but remember, slip on latex masks are around $35.00 clams, and they suck. You sweat like a pig underneath them and you can't hardly breath, let alone mate with that hot looking zombie girl next to you at that party! Actually, The Scream Team should be selling these horror prosthetics for more, but we won't say anything to them! Let them figure it out while we get while the gettings good! Ha! Ha! You might be thinking, "Hey, Trex from HorrorStew.com, why do you give a rat's behind about these products?" Well, I'll tell you honestly, they haven't asked me or given me one red cent for this review. I know a great product when I see it! The Scream Team deserve this review because it benefits: You!

Let's recap: Why should you buy any Scream Team horror prosthetics? THE Kit

  • They are lightweight.
  • They glue to your face and move with your facial expressions.
  • You get to do the make-up on them yourself. Customize it according to how you want it!
  • You can actually get more then one wear out of them, if taken off carefully!
  • You can eat and drink in them. You don't want a mask that impedes the beer bottle from hitting your lips. Try drinking with any other mask!
  • Compared to over the head latex masks at 35.00 or more, $50.00 is a steal.
  • Combined with fangs, wigs, and horror contact lenses, the masks are scary as hell!

You'll look cool and original in your monkey mask while the guy in the gorilla suit will look like a wanna-be, banana eating, swallowing slacker! Dork!
