Hostel 2 was another good continuation of what happens to travelers who don’t watch out for themselves, their passports, or their surroundings. The first fright is the language barrier. The second fright is alcohol. Get soaked enough and you can’t think, let alone fight. This edition follows three students (Beth, Lorna, and Whitney) who get pimped by a girl who poses as a nude model for their art class. One by one they are taken as they are separated by each other. Only Beth may have any hope because her potential torturer/murderer has a weak mind that could possibly be manipulated. As usual, this film is full of gore, blood, and decapitations, including a chopped off set of male genitals which made me almost scream in pain. You’ll see Paxton, the original survivor from the first film, make an appearance here. This film was good, but didn’t have the bite of the first Hostel. I read some reviews about the original Hostel where some people commented that it just wasn't that good and Part 2 is far superior. Man, I wonder what part of the original did they not like!?! What's the matter, not enough gore for you? That movie made me squirm in my seat and gave me chills! I'm not usually the type to get chills over a horror movie. All the same, the film gets you caring about the characters, and then kills them off, which sucks, but it does the trick! Anyway, check it out if you’ve haven’t seen it.
