This Friday The 13th edition is a movie about Jason Voorhees being put into a different environment, (space), and not even caring one whit as long as he has his trusty machete. The only thing bigger then Kane Hodder's Jason is the lead girl's (Lexa Doig) collagen-inflated lips. She works at Crystal Lake Research Facility studying the many reasons why Jason won't die when Jason escapes after slaughtering a handful of capable soldiers. Rowan (Lexa Doig) is game however; she gets her groove on and fights for her life while wielding a pump shotgun against Jason, driving him back with every shot into a giant cryogenic machine. Rowan freezes him but makes the mistake of looking through the window at him, prompting Jason to run his machete through the door and into her leg, sealing her fate to be frozen along with him because of the security lockdown mode shutting her in.

Fast forward to the far future where Earth is dead and people live on Earth II. A teacher, who's also a scavenger of Earth and looks for anything of remote value to sell on Earth II, takes his young, but hot looking students on a field trip. They find the Crystal Lake Facility along with Jason and Rowan, bring them aboard, and un-thaw them. Big mistake. Mix an angry thawed out Jason with hot and horny teenagers, gung ho security people with big guns, and a funny as heck android chick (Lisa Ryder) named Kay-Em 14, and you have yourself a slasher flick!! Jason X is filled with pretty funny one liners along with some serious gore for instance when the hull is breached and everybody's in danger of flying out the hole, one chick (holding on for dear life to a floor grate) says, "This sucks on so many levels!" before being pulled through the grate covered hole and turned into ground girl meat. Jason X is a good effort and different enough to keep your interest. Don't take it too seriously and you won't be dissapointed.
