New Nightmare is a movie within a movie as Heather Langenkamp aka Nancy from the Elm Street saga starts to have some very weird things happen to her ever since her husband started to develop a new glove for the Freddy character. He's a special effects man on the new script that Wes Craven is writing for a final Elm Street movie. In a nutshell, her husband gets murdered but cops think it's just a bad accident. Heather checks his body out at the morgue and sees the claw marks on his torso, so she begins to understand what's going on. When her son Dylan starts to get terrorized by "The Bad Man" and quits sleeping, everybody's got an explanation for it. The doctors think that she's letting him watch her old Elm Street movies, family and friends think it's because his father just died. Heather can hardly believe it, but understands that somehow, Freddy's come back even though he's just a character in a script! She's in for the fight of her life and doesn't fully become armed against Freddy until she steps into her old role as Nancy. Adios Freddy!
P.S. I haven't seen Heather Langenkamp since her role in the original Elm Street and she doesn't look like she's aged at all!
