So says Reggie, good friend of Jody and his kid brother Mike, as they all try to deal with and find out who and what the Tall Man (Angus Scrimm) and his hooded dwarves are. It hasn’t been easy on the trio lately. Jody and Mike’s parents both died, and now Tommy, another good friend of Reggie and Jody, has died mysteriously. It’s at his funeral that a spying Mike (forbidden to go by Jody) notices the “Tall Man” for the first time. What’s the Tall Man doing? Only lifting the super heavy casket of Tommy and throwing it into the back of his creepy looking hearse instead of burying it!

Young Mike starts to get very interested in what’s going on at the mortuary where his parents are entombed after seeing the Tall Man. He makes various night-time trips there and notices little people running around in the cavernous marble building not to mention a strange silver ball that can fly around after people. One of the mausoleum grunts who capture Mike as he’s on a night time run gets stabbed in the forehead by the ball as they wrestle around. That ball sucks an enormous amount of blood out of his skull and as a final highlight, when the grunt falls to the ground after the ball does its work, it appears he pisses his coveralls by the yellow puddle that spreads on the floor! Talk about details!

Later on, as the guys find their dead friend Tommy turned into a killer dwarf, they know deep inside that they’ve got to eliminate the Tall Man and stop the evil. This movie is a classic mystery/horror film that is very unique with a solid story line. Part five of the Phantasm series is being worked on for 2008 (cool!)
