Planet Terror, Robert Rodriguez’s four-in-the-floor gore-fest zombie flick, has a star studded cast that’s a who’s who of really cool actors, one of which is my personal favorite, Michael Biehn, who’s been around in great films like The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, The Rock, and many, many others over the years. It’s great to see you still acting Biehn! Anyway, Rodriguez’s plot is simple yet effective: add renegade soldiers with a virus producing gas with everyday people from all walks of life, go-go dancers, cops, a glory seeking barbecue chef searching for the greatest sauce of all time along with a cooking channel show to go with it (Jeff Fahey in a scene chewing role!), a mysterious ex-soldier named “El Wray”, and a motley assortment of other over the top hams (read: Quentin Tarantino as a horny soldier who gets his!), and you have a feature, along with Rodriguez’s film techniques (which here look grainy like the film came out of the can straight from the 1970’s…cool!) that make this picture a wild non-stop zombie movie! This film’s got more exploding heads, run over zombies, pulled apart human beings, hot bodied chicks, and squirting blood bags then I have ever seen in a movie before! Picture Rose McGowan as the ultra hot go-go dancer with an assault rifle for a leg whose job is to shoot anything that crawls, walks, or stumbles and you get the idea of the premise! The civilians have to figure out a way to stop the zombie hoard from eating them and take down Lt. Muldoon (Bruce Willis), the leader of the commando group. It’s not going to be easy, but with enough ammo, guts, and determination, anything can be accomplished! One last tip: don’t eat anything before watching this film, lol!
