Pumpkinhead Blood Feud tells the tale of two warring hillbilly clans, The McCoy’s and the Hatfield’s. When Ricky McCoy and Jodie Hatfield secretly meet at one of their regularly romantic visits, two Hatfield brothers are aware of it. They chase Ricky’s sister Sara through the woods after they catch her in the act of being the lookout for Ricky and Jodie. Tragically, she falls down a ravine and smashes her head on a tree. The boys head back to Ricky and Jodie and drag Ricky behind their truck as punishment for screwing with their sister. The rope snaps, and Ricky, noticing Sara is no where to be found, searches for her in the woods and finds her body. Aching for vengeance, Ricky visits the old witch woman deep in the woods, seeking to call upon Pumpkinhead. The rest of the film is a lot of killing, gutting, head stomping, knife stabbing, decapitating madness as Punky does his work on the Hatfield clan. You won’t believe your ears at the list of hillbilly names in this film: Jim-Bob, Billy-Bob, etc; if the boys have a name, you can rest assured it has a hyphen and a “Bob” after it! Punky breaks up a still where one of the good old boys is making moonshine, avoids the set bear traps that the clan placed in the woods, and actually kills one Hatfield after he goes through all of the work of sawing his own bear-trap-caught-leg off with his bowie knife, all of that with barely a whimper! These are some tough Hatfield’s, let me tell you! Those bear traps are one heck of a prop in this film as one guy, after being whipped through the air like a paper airplane by Punky, lands with his head right over the trap. The thing springs shut, turning his head into strawberry jam. Another guy gets his head stomped into jelly by Punky’s foot! What a mess! After the clan starts to thin down, they realize the have to combine forces to send the monster back to hell, and the key lies with Ricky McCoy. Catch this jug-tipping, hoe-down jigging, 4x4 truck mudding, shotgun blasting, bib overall wearing, and moonshine drinking farce for a delightfully gory time! Look for Lance Henrikson in this as well.
