Scary Movie is a send-up of the horror films Scream, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If there are other movies roasted in this one, I missed them. The star of the movie is the villain from Scream; the white masked, black cloaked knife slashing fiend with the rough voice. Any movie that’s made by any Wayans means that it will pretty much be a ribald, in your face, over the top humor film! They don’t disappoint as they put the killer in all types of situations, the most funny being the “smoking dope” scenes with the “home-boys”. It gets even better during the standing on the spot rap session where quick wit will determine just how good the rhyme is. When it’s time for the killer to do his, everybody winds up slashed to death except for Marlon Wayans’s character “Shorty” who dazedly proclaims it “The ill-est rhyme I ever seen!” before giving the killer a hug! Hilarious! The original Scream and I Know…characters get shredded by the actresses playing them as ditzy shallow tramps. There are a lot of sly jokes in this film as well.

The guy that plays "Officer Doofy" does a dead-on imitation of Scream's David Arquette cop character Deputy Dwight 'Dewey' Riley, except as a mildy retarded person, complete with bowel movements in his pants! That guy is classic! I liked Scary Movie, especially since I’ve seen Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you haven’t seen these films, see them first before watching this film or the jokes will be flat. Good fun!
