Sequels are usually never as good as the original, a fact pointed out in Scream 2, the sequel to the hit teenage slasher flick. But this is one sequel that lives up to the original. In the film, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) attempts to put the murders behind her when she goes off to college. But when a killer begins acting out a real life sequel as the new film, Stab (based on Gale Weathers’ book The Woodsboro Murders about the previous killings) is released, Sidney finds that sequels can be just as scary as the original. Meanwhile, the gang from the original shows up to help find the killer, including Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), deputy Dewey (David Arquette), and Randy (Jamie Kennedy). This edition points out the similarities of sequels and turns their “rules” inside out. While it is almost a copy of the original, it is still entertaining and director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson keep you guessing whodunit to the very end. -Melissa Helwig
