I won't pick on The Dead Zone series (I watched the pilot myself, not bad) because I don't want to make anybody angry, but I have to say that the original movie by horror cut-em'-up schlock master David Cronenberg and starring the ultra cool and all around class actor Christopher Walken is a far better work! Of course, Stephen King's book is far better then the movies, but, alas, that's the way it goes. The movie is about a literature teacher named Johnny Smith who's got a girl he loves, a great job, and the future to look to. He gets in a terrible accident, survives, and lies in a coma for five years. He wakes up and finds himself able to "see" into the future of anybody he touches. Now rehabilitated, he finds his girl married to someone else, his mother recently dead, and this new curse. He doesn't realize it's true worth until he shakes the hand of a maniacal, charismatic politician who's running for the Senate, Greg Stillson!
