One thing about The Exorcist III Legion movie is that it's complicated, but interesting. The movie is centered around the friendship of the
first Exorcist's Father Karras and the cop, Lt. Kinderman, the guy who loves movies, as previously played by the great Lee J. Cobb. The role in
this movie is done very well by George C. Scott (another great). It's some years after Father Karras's death from the fall down the steps. Lt.
Kinderman is investigating recent murders that have all the mark of the Gemini Killer, but the Gemini Killer is dead! Or is he?!? Kinderman is
also good friends with another older Priest who knew Father Karras well, and HE ends up getting killed by the Gemini in a hospital. There's a
lot of soul swapping in The Exorcist III Legion. This is where Father Karras is involved because as you know, he took the demon that was
possessing Regan into himself before tumbling down those awful steps in the first movie.
Anyway, the murders aren't adding up for Kinderman and
after witnessing his old friend Karras in the Gemini Killer's body (played great by the creepy Brad Dourif) he doesn't know what to think. His
belief pattern doesn't allow for the supernatural; he's a cop for crying out loud and relies on tangible facts! I won't give the movie away. The
movie does dog down with a lot of dialogue but is intensely sparked with plenty of menace. It's not the first Exorcist for sure, but it's not the
crappy second movie Exorcist II: The Heretic. If you want your brain picked, give The Exorcist III Legion a try!
