The Exorcist (1973) came out with the traditional belief that there is a good and there is an evil, and they are at odds with one another. The
Devil possesses a little girl. The secular doctors think she has a brain lesion but two priests and the end of her rope mother think differently. The
battle for her soul begins!

A more recent addition to the top 10 horror movies list is the movie, Hostel (2005). Based in the always creepy old world Europe, three hitchers
are canvassing towns looking for ready women! Little do they know that when they get to where they are going, they are the ones being pimped out. The
raging gore and tight suspense will have you remembering this movie for a long time. |

famous for it's shower/murder scene.

Rosemary's Baby (1968) shows what happens when you meet new neighbors. Sometimes, even though you may like them, talk to them, and desire their
company, they may desire something more precious to you, perhaps something you don't care to give. Menacing overtones and bad faith give this movie the
punch that'll scare the living h** out of you. |

A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) was a pivotal psychological horror film that explored dreams of teenagers. The maniac, Freddy, with his five
bladed fingers, stalks and kills the teens in their dreams! Only Nancy stays awake long enough to unravel the mystery behind the murders. She can't sleep,
because if she does, she's next!!! A landmark, and one of the best top 10 horror movies.

The Omen (1976) is one of the top 10 horror movies of all time. Forget the remake. This original starring the great Gregory Peck tells the story
of an Ambassador that unknowingly adopts the Anti-Christ! Plenty of murders and paranormal incidents let him know what the boy is and what he must now
do! |
|
The Shining (1980) is a movie that the great Jack Nicholson starred in. A film by the masterful Stanley Kubrick, the story is about one man's
mental breakdown in a lonely haunted mega hotel out in the mountains. Where else can you hear an insane, unbalanced Jack tell his wife
Wendy, "I'm not gonna hurt ya' Wendy, I'm just gonna bash your brains in! I'm gonna bash em' right the f*** in!"

The Evil Dead (1981), directed by Spider Man's Sam Raimi, is a low budget horror film that is interesting because it has atmosphere. It IS
creepy. The acting is overdone, hammy even, the effects are crude, but we have a soft spot for this movie. It has soul, if you have a sense of humor. A
group of young adults head to a cabin deep in some haunted woods for a little revelry and find themselves being turned into zombies after they find the book
of the dead and listen to a found tape of some passages. |
|
Night Of The Living Dead (1968) was George Romero's groundbreaking "survive the zombies film". Every zombie movie made afterward was influenced
by Romero. A lonely farmhouse becomes the final staging ground for survival against flesh-eating zombies!

this resort town. It's up to the town police chief to do something about it! Watch out Chief, because this shark is hungry AND intelligent! A Steven
Spielberg film. |
