This is a fast moving film about a long waged war between Vampires and Werewolves who absolutely hate each other unto death. The war would rage on except for the fact that Lucian, head werewolf, is trying to mix the bloodlines of the two races which head vampire Viktor proclaims an "abomination". The human that the werewolf clan captures for this little experiment has the blood that can accept the mixing of the two without rejection. Michael Corvin, the human, has fallen in love with Selene (Beckinsale), a vampire Death Dealer. She's busy saving his hide from the werewolves, and from her own vampire clan who want him dead, so she can unravel the mystery of why the werewolves want the blood mixed as well as the mystery of if Lucian is alive. Nobody in her clan believes that he is. Besides all that, Selene attempts to fend off current clan leader Kraven, who wants her for his queen. I can't say to much more here for fear of ruining the film for somebody, but check it out, it's got some great surprises, not to mention a sequel!
