This film is simply another goodie from director Lucio Fulci! This is a great movie and addition to the undead hall of fame, if there is one! The story is fairly simple: A boat drifts into New York City with an undead onboard. The Port Authority blows it away but not before it snacks on one cop. The investigators find out that the boat belongs to Anne Bowles's missing father. She runs into a reporter investigating the same story, so they both take off on a charted boat with another couple to find the island that her father is reported to be on. The island is a home to a Doctor Menard who's very busy treating the sick islanders. It seems that they are coming back to life after dying. The poor Doctor, who knew Anne's departed father, is researching the undead problem with no luck. The only thing he can count on is his trusty pistol to deliver the shot to the head of the zombies he's been treating. Meanwhile, his poor wife, Paola, is going insane, losing her grip on reality because of the stumbling dead. You'll never think the same of having a little vaction on an island somewhere after viewing this gem!
