Well, I have a dare book for girls and it says that to get her attention is to turn out the lights and say her name thirteen times then write it on the mirror in lipstick or you could spin around and do it. Me and my friends tried it but nothing has happened yet. My book also says that if you do it three times that she will pull you in the mirror and you will be in there for the rest of your long living life which means if they say your name you could come out to scare them but it only happens at midnight on Halloween day.

I think its rediculous that people are so narrow minded!! Mary Moore was a witch big deal why is everyone so against witches they arent all evil....leave her rest in peace!! if you play with fire you will get burnt.......leave the dead to lie!!

That legend used to scare the shit out of me as a child. I remember once one of our friends spit on her grave and his nose started bleeding.

That Legend Is Everywhere!

I have heard the same Urban Legend around here in New Jersey too. In Edison NJ there's the story of the Witch Mary Moore. She was burned at the stake for being a Witch and cursed the area. It goes that with the lights on, at Midnight,say her name 3 times and then turn the light off. Wait 10 minutes and see what happens? Some people say she appears behind you and kills you or drags you to Hell. But the most repeated version is one where a girl did all that, and when she turned the lights on Mary Moore had carved "MM" into cheek!
I love all these Local urban legends and use them in my writng. My recently published novel "Between Heaven And Hell" uses a few of New Jersey's local haunts!
