I think that Edgar Allan Poe died because he drank too much. Since he drank a lot, he must have gotten sick and his immune system could not handle the sickness. So, Edgar Allan Poe died, in my opinion, because of a weak immune system caused by over drinking.

Evidence - I see none!

There is no evidence to support various peoples claims of how Edgar Allen Poe died - Yes, I agree there is a chance that his drinking could have effected him badly but anything can happen.
Unless there were witnesses - at the time there were none - you never truly know the death of many people.
It's great that eveyone has there own opinion and views but his drinking cannot be claimed as the reason for his young death - there are many options, however, his drinking could have hurt him unchangably.

There is no evidence that he did die from drinking. All we do know is that he did drink and get sick a lot. Maybe he got the disease as well as Virginia. His death will be a mystery.
