Short Horror Story: The Classic "Night Shift"

If you are a fan of the short horror story, grab a copy of the book Night Shift by Stephen King. This book, published in 1978, satisfies the horror reader like no other because it's King at his earliest, sharpest best. The book has 20 stories that leave you hanging for more. Some of these may sound familiar to you because they were made into movies! Children of the Corn, The Lawnmower Man, Quitters, Inc., and Sometimes They Come Back are just a few of the stories that eventually become movies, or parts of movies. If you hated the movies read the book. Movies hardly do King's books justice anyhow and the stories are so short, it's not painful on your mind. With all of them, you'll wish King would've kept writing!

A Great Book!

Our favorite short horror story in the book would have to be I Know What You Need. It's about this guy that knows beforehand what people are thinking about and does his dandiest to make their thoughts a reality, if only to control, manipulate, and seduce. Another gem in that book that we enjoy as a close second is The Man Who Loved Flowers. The story has a little romance, beautiful scenery, a well dressed gent, nicely orchestrated street scenes.....and murder. Lastly, Quitters, Inc. is a story a non-smoker truly would enjoy as it tells of the high cost a man must keep paying for smoking after he goes to a company specializing in making people quit! Quitters, Inc, of course, has a very high success rate!

Short Horror Story Genuis!
