Slime that turns people's bodies inside out...

I saw this movie as a kid in the 70's, but I think it's older. I just remember some guy picking up the black slime with a stick, then holding up the stick and watching it ooze down over his arm, thus killing him. Apparently this slime turned people's bodies inside out. Does anyone have a clue about this one?

You know, what you're describing sounds a lot like The Blob because there's an old man with a stick who pokes the outer space mass and it travels up the stick and onto his hand, to his horror! The 1958 movie stars the immortal Steve McQueen. I loved this corny flick! I could be wrong, so let me know! Thanks for writing in, Alice!
