The Truth Was Once A Lie.
by Elizabeth
As the legend goes, Bloody Mary was a witch who practiced the dark arts. My family comes from a line of witches, true? Yes. We aren't like the one you call Bloody Mary. She was of the dark arts. Back to what I was writing. My mother and I went into my bedroom, shut the door, and turned off the lights, with only one candle remaining lit. As the story goes, we turned 3 times and said the name, "Bloody Mary", 3 times. At the end there was nothing. And I began to sweat. I felt a dark presence...That's when my mother fell, calling out to me, "Dear Elizabeth! Run!" I myself, couldn't move...She was ripping my mother to shreds...All I could see were scratch marks...Then it happened, the most unusual thing, my mother began to glow...As far as I could tell, my mother was saying a quote...I was scared...And that's when I did the most foolish thing ever. I looked at the mirror. There was a beautiful woman standing there, her arms spread wide, and such a bright smile. I started toward the mirror...When, in the blink of an eye, the image changed...A scarred woman stand there, cooing, telling me my mother had been posessed, that I needed to go with her, instead of staying with my mother. I took a few steps which put me only about 6 inches from the mirror. She started reaching for me, when my mother yelled, "Burn! Die! Have thy been banished!" Then she yelled in spanish. Words I can't remember. This story is vivid, but true. From then on, my children have tried to summon the witch. But when she shows, I usually walk in, so she disappears. My daughter, Jess, has encountered this horrible monster. In Jess's dreams, she see's her, and when she awakes, she is drenched with sweat, fresh cuts along her arms, and face...That is the story of Dear Elizabeth. |
